well, whether or not this is true, my original question still stands.

I suppose if Stravinsky or Shostakovich had written it there'd be an abundance of answers and witty replies volleyed back and forth.

indeed it was sarcasm...

no volley. you are correct about to a degree about Mr Schifrin. I just wanted an opinion on the 'Hommage a Ravel' piece. I mostly know Schifrin for his famous TV themes and a few film scores like Bullitt, but not his classical pieces, and thus the question was raised.

I asked a specific question and got a different response about Maurice Ravel, who was not the subject of the thread.

oh well, such is this vast wasteland of a NG.
