I've only just bought the CD 'A Rush of Blood To The Head' by Coldplay. It has been a long time since I bought a CD but I heard the song Clocks and it has captured my attention.
I find it a wonderfully haunting melody, and just takes me to a zone whereby I feel that my senses need to expand to take it all in. Not many songs can do that for me.
Anyway I was wondering what the meaning of the song is. I have read one other thread whereby it was debated... but there was no real conclusion there...
I have read through the lyrics many times, and I get a funny feeling that it is a song about being bitter about a breakup.

It is the feeling that matters, do not think too much.

I find the lyric too abstract, some people find this sort of thing interesting, some find it an excuse for the writer not being able to write and or communicate good lyrics and or story. People like what they like, I have yet to understand why someone likes coldplay, I find them very mundane and in my humble opinion, I wouldn't call them good song writers, but hey, that's just me. That particular song reminds me of when I was young sitting at the piano playing the same thing over and over and over trying to come up with something cool, but never hitting the mark.

LOL, my sentiments as well. It amazes me that a hit was made from piano playing like that .

Speaking of Coldplay lyrics... I have decided that 'Yellow' is about pissing in the snow... anyone else think this?
