One of the things they teach in jive class is dance to the music.

It is possible to go beyond that, to dance in the music. To do this the dancer dances to their own inner riffs, which blend with the music being played. Pretentious? dynamic poetry, that sounds pretentious too. Those with the bandwidth or patience can judge for yourselves:

When I was younger ( and before I gained weight ) I was a solo dancer. The music I preferred to dance to was melodic hard rock and what I referred to as 'macabre classical.' I danced with the music

Apologies all, I should have marked my post OT

I regard myself as a bit of a carthorse, and am certainly no lightweight.

Some of my regular partners are also generously proportioned. They are obviously handicapped, but nevertheless one of them is a partner of choice for music that needs real expression. One of my dance heroes is a very overweight, but he is amazingly light on his feet, and a joy to watch, moving a bit like 'Red' in the clip, who also could not be described as
