Here's a song I wrote about 7 years ago...

'Judgment Day'

Far beyond any call for help, Planets beg to collide. Essential treasons, protected hells Masses waiting to die. Operatic tune of betrayal, As judgment takes off the glove. Swift and sure, the sirens fly, And teeth bite from above.

(chorus) Does it pay To be paid When life has no value? Does it pay If you pray And life has no end? When given no new meaning, The soul commits to darkness, And in the ways of the father, We're marching into hell.

Failure to see the distinction, And blind acceptance of law, Deliver us to our fate, And we slow to a crawl. Bullet poundings, love and forgiveness. And symphonies of passive retreat, Painting the race into a corner, Orgies of hate, Babylon seed

BTW...I wished to hell I had it recorded. Those few here familiar with bands like Napalm Death would enjoy it, I think.

Then why not make a demo and approach N Death?

Well...for one, ND is longer together, for now. We all know how fashionable reunions have become though.

Secondly, I have had the opportunity to 'sell' my work. But as a performer first, I'm loathe to hear anyone attempt it but me. Because I write with the song completed, for the most part, it would be very difficult to hear it re-worked by someone that wasn't part of the original vibe. It's kind of hard to explain. I've given it some thought, but I suppose the short answer is just that I'm very possessive of my songs. Maybe if the right carrot were extended from the right stick...I don't know. To me, it's a moral dilemma. I'm open to suggestions though.

I remember you mentioned this already and I held back from saying it, but... you have to let your little babies grow up and go out and have a life! Bruise their knees, discover drink. And girls.

Joking aside, it can be devastating, and can also be very rewarding - probably more the latter (not just talking money, btw). Nothing is to stop you doing your version if you don't dig the mess that Aerosmith/Lee Roth/Dimmu Borgir make of it!
