Concert Organist, Roman Krasnovsky spends his time between concerts and recitals and picking up the Trash in the Northern Israeli town of Karmiel.
He performs both in Israel and abroad, but still needs to board the garbage truck in the early morning to make a living.

Krasnovsky began playing the piano at 5 years old and has never stopped.  He emigrated from the Ukraine to Israel in 1990, at the age of 35, and until then was the principal keyboard player at the Kharkov Symphony Orchestra.

He emigrated to Israel to look after his two aging parents, even though he new it wasn’t such a good place to forward his organ career, because although Israel has many Churches, there are not many good organs to play on.
He said

I knew that I could not make a living here, but at the time it was important for me to be in a free country, to play anywhere I wanted, give concerts and perhaps teach somewhere,” he said.

Instead, he has been riding a garbage truck for the last 17 years, and in between giving concerts in Israel and in Europe’s most famous churches such as Notre Dame in Paris, Colognes massive cathedral, St. Pauls in London and so on.
I find him quite inspirational .
