Does anyone know if GM Audio www.gmaudio.co.uk are still going ? They repair and (sometimes) have for sale old Trace Elliot bits. I'd hoped they might have an old Trace 1153 bass cab (the baby 15' to go with my combo, but got no reply to my email.

Anyone ?

I bought some bits off them recently and they replied pretty quickly, mind you it is the holiday season...

Oh well. Too late now as I've purchased a SH Ampeg SVT3 Pro, Euphonic Audio VL110 and VL210 speakers and SKB case for the head.

Sounds great. However, I still have to get rid of the 1210H and bass pod. Don't want to go stereo perchance ?

Only if you want to get rid of the SVT!

I've been thinking about this for a while, not really stereo, but splitting the signal into two amplifiers, one for a slightly distorted treble, one for a clean bass.

I did the bi-amping thing for a while with a Peavey MkVIII with in-built crossover and a Trace AH300 for the top. It worked really well, but was a lot to lug about .

Yep, I've been rehearsing using an SVT head through an 8x10 cab. It sounds great, especially with my Sansamp bass driver, but I can't help thinking it would sound better if I connected my Trace to the second output of the pedal for extra bass. With the extra 15' speaker, it should sound pretty good.

It'll have to wait a while though. The rehearsals are in Glasgow, I live in Oxford and my amp is in Dundee.

Ah, the old 8 x 10 chest thumper. They sound (and feel) amazing, but I don't have a removal van Having said that, you wouldn't believe the bass sound (and volume !) from these teeny EA's. I did a gig the other week at damn near the levels we use for the local pub with the 1 x 10.

Where in Glasgow do you rehearse ? I'm about 20 miles west. so may know the place.

Sounds as if it might be the Brill Building.

Incidently, my Trace is no longer mine. Sold it tonight and am now halfway to being able to afford the Ampeg etc.

I'm also looking for some form of multi-band compressor (a la EBS) 'cos I'll miss the Trace stuff. I can't belive I've sold TWO Trace DC pedals over the years.

There's a Trace SMX compressor (?) on ebay at the moment... pity he won't ship outside the US.

Oh well, if all else fails I could use the comp in the bass pod.
