Just tried both routes to the online audio. After a delay of a few seconds, both connected OK - no pop-ups either.

Re the satellite receiver, you can still get a subsidised SKy digital system installed for 100 pounds if you don't wish to subscribe.

I don't know how much the cheapest raft of channels cost. You MAY find it's cheaper to pay the lower installation charge and then subscribe for the minimum period to the skeleton service.

Any old DVB digital deceiver will do. I am using an XSAT (=XCOM) CDTV200 I got with a subscription to ABsat four years ago to pick up all the BBC Radio programmes (plus Radio 4 longwave!), TCM, ITN, and Sky News, in fact anything broadcast in clear. OTOH, an Italian broadcaster has opted for Murdoch's encryption system, so it might be possible to find a deal for Astra 2.

You surprise me. In UK fta digital box can be obtained for less. Seen adverts for under £200. We all seem to think things like this are cheaper in Europe, are looking in the right supermarkets?
