thanks for this. Cash will be sorely missed. he was not just a country music legend but a music legend. i remember 'discovering' ring of fire when I was about 15, when I was deep into grunge and all that, and being amazed with that song.
i just heard an interesting cash fact the other day, 'boy named sue' was written by shel siversteen. that is really funny, i had no idea. apparently johnny was going to play at folsom prison and shel and johnny where friends. shel asked johnny if he wanted a new song and cash said 'i've got enough material' but he took it anyway. so johnny played at the prison and they the prisoners where not impressed, so johnny pulled out shel's song and played it, and the prisoners loved it. not sure if that's true, but great story anyway.
