Hi there,

I am proud to present the completed English version of world's first and only website about the Austrian late romantic impressionist Joseph Marx (1882-1964):

Here are a few that I like best:

Sauer/Scharwenka

Hahn/Massanet (for the Hahn)

Marx/Korngold

Glazunov

Medtner (both discs)

Mendelssohn (not the disc with the concertos for two pianos)

Balikirev

Many of the concertos in the series (some would argue all) are second tier pieces at best. But, being a piano concerto junkie, that doesn't bother me too much. My least favorite of the series are probably the Brull and Huss/Scheling discs. The performances range from good to outstanding. I have not heard the last three issues in the set, as I'm hoping they will show up at BMG soon where they can be had at a substantial discount.
