What's your budget for these? The reason I ask is that you can spend horrendous amounts of money to get 'the most natural sound possible', but there are cheaper alternatives that'll get you in the ballpark (or concert hall, as it were). Just set a price range, and then we (meaning myself and the other posters on here) can suggest some mics that might work for you.

Cheers, Neb

Prices out there are different than they are here. But you can find the Audio-Technica 4053 for around $450, or the Sound Room selected Oktava 012 for around $230. I like the A-T more than the Oktava, but it's twice as much. I like the B&Ks more than either, but they're a lot more. On the whole you get what you pay for with this sort of thing, unlike many other sectors of the market.

Here in France, you could try the Audio technica 50xx.A good alternative is the MBHO mics. I have a pair of omni (100D) and cardoid (200), and all my classical music recordings are made with them. The cardoid are very good. You can find them at Canford Audio (www.canford.fr). Look at www.mbho.de for the description of the mics.
