You've probably already sorted it out but you don't need to download the fix - just boot into safe mode, look for a file called msblast.exe in the windowssystem32 folder and delete it. Do a search in regedit for msblast as well and delete the registry key containing it. You're now uninfected. Now make sure you have a firewall switched on before going online again. Write out 'I must not go online without a firewall' 500 times.

If you need to go online to download a suitable firewall, then first look for a file somewhere in the windows folder called tftp.exe and rename it to tftp-old.exe. This program was involved in downloading the worm and so if you rename it you can go online without risk of reinfection by this worm.

Then go and download and install the microsoft patch that fixes the vulnerability that this worm exploits.
