Will a newish DVD player play a NTSC CD-video disc?

my sony dvp s7700 will, and it says so right on the face. from other groups, i understand that not all dvd'ers will play cd video, or play it well. though, sometimes, evidently the fault's in the burning of the disc.

Varies from brand to brand though most will play CD-Videos. Best to check the manfacturer's specs on what can be used on a particular machine. IIRC, Pioneers tend to be able to play the most formats of
