I need some help, I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Have recently purchased an old Atari 1040, but have no idea how to get cubase to work on it. It is to be part of a simple home studio. If anyone knows what a dongle is and how to get hold of one for this machine, that would be great.

Yup, they were pretty neat little things. NOTATOR was absolutely awful, all pattern-based, working out lengths and sequences of patterns. I hated it with a passion unbridled. Then Cubase arrived in the department, with it's revolutionary timeline based editing and clips. Wonderful!

Oh yeah, I'm sure there was! But if this guy's got an original Cubase copy (yeah, how likely is that?) and the ST is in working condition, it might be worth getting a dongle from Steinberg - just to ensure the patch doesn't cause a crash.
