Hey Gang:
Believe it or not, I have been here at RMMS, lurking via Google. Enjoyed the long thread regarding 'bitter musicians.' I may go and insert a few comments, but for now I will say that the closer one gets to possibly 'making it,' the finer the line becomes between elation and bitterness. You have to constantly keep your eye on the goal of enjoying making better music, not money.
Here's something some of you may find interesting: for about a year, Ellen (RMMS Ellen) has been trying to get me together with another fellow San Francisco musician, 'Doc' West. Now that both Ellen and Doc have moved here to Nashville, she finally intoduced him to me about a month ago up at the Broken Spoke. We hit it off right away, playing together in the green room until they kicked us out at closing time. We played a little together over the next few days, did some recording in one of my co-writer's studios, and then, he joined me for a Sunday night show at the Bluebird. Fortunately, Phil the soundman recorded the 3 songs for me, and he did a better than average job. I'm sure glad he did, because the folks at 'Live on the Net' must not have recorded the live broadcast, as it is not in their archive. I don't know if any of you have heard Doc before, but I encouarage you to check him out, and consider using him for demos when in Nashville. He has good chops, and adds a lot of emotion to the songs... great ear!!!
Should you have the time, and if you are not too mad at me for lurking and then only dropping in when I have an mp3 I'd like you to hear.. 8^) ... then please check the songs out at:

I miss you guys, and will try to spend more time here now that I've shut down my time-eating mp3 station.
