Some he wrote for money Some he wrote for fun Some he wrote and threw away And never sang to anyone One he wrote for his Mama And never finished two or three He lost track of all the rest But the most he wrote for me

The worst line ever in a song: Spandau Ballet: Gold:

'Why do I find it hard to write the next line'

Makes me gag every time I hear it (and now I hear it in my head).

A little while ago I posted 'Fools Gold' - thats a song about songwriting.

I once suffered writers block, but as soon as I gave up:

I cannot find a verse, nor yet a single line you deserve a song, but it won't be one of mine ...

and, freshly inspired:

I did not write this song, I plucked it from the air It did not come from me, it came from who knows where A song from the heart, a ballad sentimental I am just the messenger, but I'll collect the rental

I missed that, and 'The lurker', probably during my ISP troubles.

I am catching up now, playing all.

and while my modem cranks away, from the first title, with no attempt to fit the melody:

Young men should go hard in some places when they regard some pretty faces it's just natural, there's no disgraces and sometimes, they look at me but much too much for them is much too much for me

Am I so beautiful that in this world alone I have the great power to turn a man to stone I wanted to be a great seducer but I have earned my fame as Medusa

It was Conway (or as I like to say Coneway) Twitty, the best friend a song ever had.
