Hi folks,

Something I've noticed in the sheet music I buy is often the songwriters have their own company like 'Their Name Music Pty'. I have published a book of music (okay so I could only afford to print 8 copies) and I want my music to go somewhere.

What is the deal with those guys who have their own company? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! How does it effect their marketing, promotion... what are the benefits? I really want to know as much about this as possible...! Thanks

That's the publishing company, whoever owns the song, whether the songwriter or an outside publisher.
