Well, last night was our first night at the local pub. We knew practically everyone anyway, but it was still a really great night (read: I didn't screw everything up). Did about 2 hours of music. Brought in some new faces. Gonna do some adverstising and put up some posters. Every Saturday night, wow! Quite a bit of work, but I still wrote a new song yesterday! BTW, some of my originals went over really well. We're planning to write some more to fill out the sets. I need to add some fun stuff and most of what I find just doesn't fit. So I'll just write it!

Have a great day, and thanks for your well-wishes!

[deletions] : Always enjoyed it when we could play the same place every week for awhile, : lots less tearing down, and setting up. Since it's a small town, Bob...you : oughta try writing some about the patrons, they'll appreciate the : personalizing...or maybe not. ; ) Good luck, glad you're all enjoying it. : Sherryl

Thanks Sherryl. Luckily, the gear is pretty simple. Piano, small rack, two speakers on sticks and a mic. Still takes about an hour to get set up and about a half hour to tear down. But being 5 minutes from home makes it real easy. Been to many gigs where they were 2 or 3 hours away from home, those take better planning.

Not sure about writing about the patrons, but some of the past events in the little town might be interesting. We have a a yearly 'Old Timer's Day' that needs a song... Thanks again!

: Well done, Bob, to you and your daughter. : You have, of course, a list of your own songs for a CD to sell at your shows? : Soon you'll be too posh to talk to me : Dolores ;-^

Thanks Dolores! We don't have enough originals yet to fill out a formal CD, I'm afraid. Gonna have to get writing ASAP. And I'll never be too posh

snipped...

Yeah, think that was part of what the club owner liked, it was simple, easy to sing along with maybe. ; ) Thought of you just a bit ago Dolores, did you see that Hank Williams songwriting post? I'm still catching up...yet again, but wouldn't it be fun to try to write a song Hank might have had he had a few more years to do it?

Actually, it is correct:

ad·ver·stis·ing ( P ) Pronunciation Key (dvrs-tzng) n. The activity of preventing public attention to a product or business, as by paid warnings in the print, broadcast, or electronic media.
