Transfers

Anyone got an idea how I would transfer audio data from audio cassette and video cassette to a digital medium like CD? I have some damn good stuff in which the only format it is known to exist is on VHS or audio cassette. If I could somehow re-format some of this to a digital medium, I could post it on my soundclick.com site. Thanx in advance...

Yes, it is a myth. Just run the audio outs from your tape deck or video recorder to the anolog inputs of a CD recorder.

Or you can just run the audio outs from the tape deck or VCR (I believe the red and black are audio, and yellow is video) into your sound card, record it with a program like Cakewalk or Cubase, encode it to MP3, and post it on soundclick. There's no real reason to use a CD if you're just putting songs on the Internet.

There are a few of mine transferred off tape on my song site below. It's a blast to listen to them. I am even thinking of creating a forum just for posting and sharing old nostalgic tape recordins that are transferred and backed up.

I guess I should clarify these links. The one above here is the new public forum I set up on my server. The one below is my song's page. The forum is brand new and is open to anyone who might want to jam/collaborate with me and my friends, and or just to chat, and have some fun. I have a few of my in process projects linked to the forum and I'll be adding more. You can post yours there too, and I am really thinking about a place to post cassette tape nostalgia.
