what are some differences between popular music and classical music? Do the lines ever cross?

Pop music is aimed to enjoyment of masses of people. It's a genre that includes various styles and has almost no defined rules. Classical music is considered more of an art and it has strict rules. Classical music whether it is western or eastern or oriental is the basis of all other genres in it's region. The roots of the other styles. The lines are crossed all the time because there are pop songs that are good enough to be considered classical in the next generation and now days the boundaries are much more fluid.
